Zhengse is a distinctive feature of Karakalpak women's costume

Karakalpak women’s clothes had decorative details, that were not in Khorezm suit, as on sleeves jengse worn over sleeves of outerwear.

 Jengse was produced separately, they were up to 40 cm long and were made of red cloth over which sewed black cloth band of 7 – 8 cm wide, each of them was decorated with embroidery. These on-sleeves belong to the Nogai women and some people of the Volga region, indicating, the ancient ethnic and cultural ties with Karakalpaks and Eastern Europe.
