A fragment from the Quran is written across it in the thuluth script. On the decorative tympan of the arch niche is a formula written in large thuluth letters.
«الباقي هو الله » – He is Eternal Allah.»
Above this line is another formula carved in floral kufic:
« الملك لله » – «The Power belongs to Allah.»
And below in a horizontal square cartouche a creed is written. And even lower, inside the cartouche with a roofshaped cover, the first surah from the Quran, «al-Fatiha», is written.
