How did the urban men dress in Kashkadarya?

Urban men’s clothes were similar to the Bukhara clothes in cut and composition, but the sleeves were narrower.

Their primary distinctive feature was embroidery performed in iroqi technique. It fully covered all costume items – shoes, headgear, outer robes and the waistband – lending them elegance and decor and making them similar to carpets.

The headgears worn in Kashkadarya, especially in Shakhrisabz and other cities, included gilamduppi scullcaps that featured plant patterns. In addition to these, men wore turbans and woolen caps in winter.

You will find more examples of national Uzbek clothes in the book-album "Traditional Uzbek costume on materials of museum and private collections of Uzbekistan (Part 2)" (volume XLIX) from the series "Cultural legacy of Uzbekistan in the world collections".
