HOW TO BECOME A FRIEND OF THE WORLD SOCIETY?

Calligraphy is an integral part of our cultural heritage

Our people possess a rich cultural heritage, among which the art of calligraphy stands out as a national treasure. It's important to note that calligraphy transcends books, being widely and skillfully applied in architecture and folk art.

The World Society for the Study, Preservation, and Popularization of Cultural Legacy ofUzbekistan contributes significantly to exploring the history and development of this art form. Reporter Elyor Gurugliev will continue with the topic.

Habibulloh Solih, known for copying the Ottoman version of the Holy Quran seven times, is renowned not only among calligraphers but also in the Islamic world. His collection includes several copies of the Holy Quran he transcribed, with some pages adorned in gold. He emphasizes the importance of lifelong learning and contributing to the country's welfare.

Habibulloh Solih quotes Abdulla Avloni, highlighting that true perfection lies in knowledge rather than physical beauty, and that education is key to leading and avoiding chaos. Our ancestors believed that knowledge is the only way to save people, regardless of their age, because the door to all opportunities is hidden in knowledge.

For many years, Habibulloh Solih, enthusiastic about restoring inscriptions on our country's historical monuments, remains in continuous search. "Beyond skill, knowledge, and ability, calligraphy requires patience," he said. Although the current youth are more drawn to the digital world, with few wandering in virtual life, there are still many who embark on the challenging endeavor of calligraphy, according to the calligrapher.

Habibulloh Solih: Changes and progress are evident in all spheres, achieved through diligent work. Nowadays, thankfully, we have countless students, and Islamic calligraphy was registered by UNESCO in 2021 as a part of the international spiritual heritage, which is a significant acknowledgment.

Book-albums of the series "Architectural Epigraphy of Uzbekistan", many of which have been published by the World Society for the Study, Preservation, and Popularization of Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan, has actively involved the calligrapher Habibulloh Solih himself. He believes these books albums not only encourage calligraphers to research but also deepen our rich history, clarify historical facts, and pass on our cultural heritage to future generations.

Habibulloh Solih: "The Architectural Epigraphy of Uzbekistan" book-album is a testament to the grandeur of our spiritual heritage for foreign countries. It serves as a guide teaching our youth about the greatness of our ancestors in all fields, including art, culture, and creativity. Thanks to Firdavs Abdulkhalikov's efforts, manuscripts that our ancestors worked on for centuries are now being retrieved from the treasures of the world, with numerous original manuscripts and digital copies available".

It must be noted that the World Society is conducting truly valuable work in preserving, studying, and popularizing Uzbekistan's cultural heritage as an integral part of global cultural heritage.

In this process, the role of the calligrapher Habibulloh Solih holds special significance, - Elyor Gurugliev, Bobur Yoldoshev for the information program "Zamon".
