This text is the continuation of the above quoted qasyd of Ibn al-Farid. However, the remaining parts of the text
differ from the published texts. However, there is one fact worth noting about the information shown in the ode. That is, the surviving part of the poem is as follows:
Leaving a black line as if made by the golden [sun] beam,
The sultry blast of your anger upsets me.
In the year seven hundred and ninety-eight,
Upon the order of the Lord of the era, remember this.
This building was constructed,
And its height and beauty resembled the firmament.
… The great man departed life in a time of joy.
The year 798 AH mentioned in the qasyd corresponds to 1395-1396 AD. Thus, according to Ibn al-Farid’s description, the construction of “this magnificent building, like the vault of heaven,” was completed.
