On the left of the arch niche of the gable wall, at the level of the lock there is a square panel with a kufic inscription. The letters are yellow with black diamonds inside them framed with blue stripes. Spaces between the words are divided with white stripes. Part of the text (below on the left) has been lost.
This panel should be regarded as one of the best examples of monumental epigraphy. However, the whole text is yet to be read. Though separate words (for instance, the first word below on the right is « بلند » – «High», the word « عالم » stands for «World» in the middle on the left, etc.) make us think that this is a sentence in Persian.
