"МИР 24" об итогах конгресса «Культурное наследие Узбекистана – фундамент нового Ренессанса»

One of the assumptions made possible thanks to preserved grapheme of Oqsaroy

The inscription you see in the picture is another significant part of the lost inscriptions of Aksaray in Shakhrisabz, which became an excellent example of architectural development of the period Amir Temur and the Timurids.‌‌

As can be seen in the image, the upper of the preserved twines is decorated with an inscription rendered in kufic. White letters on a blue background. Most of the inscription has been lost. Preserved graphemes such as يا[ غفار ] – «Oh, Forgiver,» make us think that there was once a lengthy text praising Allah.

You can learn more about the topic in the book-album "Architectural epigraphy of Uzbekistan. Qashqadaryo, Shahrisabz" of the series "Architectural epigraphy of Uzbekistan".

The main sponsor of the project is the oilfield services company Eriell-Group.
