The role of Khorezm in the formation of traditional Uzbek costume

The role of Khorezm in the formation of traditional Uzbek costume

Khorezm occupies a special place in the complex of the traditional national costume of Uzbekistan.

The common border with the Karakalpaks, Turkmens and Bukharians promoted mutual borrowing in the field of culture and costume.

In its heyday in Antiquity and the Middle Ages, Khorezm was the largest center of international trade, a key point on the Silk Road. Khorezm merchants controlled a significant part of the trade of the Central Asian states with Eastern Europe. Among the goods sent from Khorezm, there was also ready-made clothes.

You will find more examples of national Uzbek clothes in the book-album "Traditional Uzbek costume on materials of museum and private collections of Uzbekistan (Part 2)" (volume XLIX) from the series "Cultural legacy of Uzbekistan in the world collections".

The general sponsor of the project is the oilfield services company Eriell-Group.
