Presidential Decree No. PP-212 dated 01.07.2025 defines additional measures for the further development of the fine and applied arts sector.
For the development and popularization of fine and applied arts on a global scale, the following will be the main priority areas of activity of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan:
- material and moral support for workers in the field of fine and applied arts, as well as design and creation of necessary conditions for effective creative work;
- organization of the activities of creative workshops intended for talented young artists, as well as their personal and collective exhibitions;
- wide involvement of talented youth in creative projects;
- development of international cooperation and others.
Within the framework of the Program for the Development of Social and Production Infrastructure of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2026-2027, it is planned:
- Reconstruction of the Exhibition Hall of the Art Exhibitions Directorate, construction of the Modern Gallery building and organization of the activities of the Center for Young Artists, consisting of 40 creative workshops;
- create a training and production workshop for the production of paper using the national method;
- construction of an additional educational building for the Pavlo Benkov Republican Specialized Art School.
Starting from the 2026/2027 academic year at the Kamoliddin Behzod National Institute of Arts and Design:
- Creative pedagogical personnel with academic degrees and academic titles, carrying out activities on the basis of external complementarity, are taken into account in the indicators of the scientific potential of this educational organization, with the exception of employees whose main place of work is other universities;
- Highly artistic works created by the institute's teachers are equated to a monograph;
- graduates of bachelor's degree programs and master's degree programs in painting, applied arts, and design, who studied psychology and pedagogy, are allowed to teach fine arts in general secondary education institutions.
The Resolution approved the Program of Additional Measures for the Further Development of the Sphere of Fine and Applied Arts.
