24.08.2024
Dear Forum Participants,
Dear Friends,
It is with profound respect and sincere congratulations that I greet all of you who have made invaluable contributions to the study and promotion of Uzbekistan's ancient history and rich cultural heritage on the momentous occasion of the opening of the VIII International Congress, "The Heritage of Great Ancestors – The Foundation of the Third Renaissance”.
We are truly honored to welcome such distinguished figures from the realms of science and the arts—scholars, researchers, experts, restorers, museologists, and specialists from numerous fields—who have traveled from near and far, demonstrating a deep and abiding interest in the exploration of the scientific and cultural legacy of our nation. This land, the birthplace of great thinkers, has played a monumental role in the dawn of both the First and Second Eastern Renaissances.
In this regard, the international forums organized by the World Society for the Study, Preservation, and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan are of immense significance.
It is particularly noteworthy that this Eighth Congress will address both current and future scientific programs and plans for the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan—a grand cultural and humanitarian initiative. The ongoing efforts to develop and implement these programs and projects, dedicated to the profound contributions of our great scholars and thinkers to global science and civilization—including the Muslim world—and to the humanistic essence of our sacred religion, Islam, will undoubtedly unlock new horizons for our collaboration.
As part of the esteemed project, "Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in the World Collections," realized with your invaluable participation, 70 volumes of book albums have been published and delivered to the most prestigious libraries, universities, museums, and scholarly institutions in our country and across the globe. Continuing this remarkable endeavor, the forum will also witness the presentation of 10 additional volumes from this series—a significant cultural milestone.
Taking this opportunity, I wish to express, on behalf of our people and myself, my deepest gratitude to you—scholars and researchers, publishers and journalists, representatives from various nations—who have dedicated yourselves to the study, preservation, and promotion of our nation's ancient and unparalleled cultural heritage. I extend my heartfelt thanks to all those who, through careful stewardship, preserve our historical and cultural monuments within diverse collections worldwide, and who collaborate closely with Uzbek specialists.
In this context, I wish to emphasize that we regard you as true friends of Uzbekistan and hold your scientific and creative endeavors in the highest esteem. The doors of our leading research and educational institutions, especially the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, will always remain open to you.
This unique, state-of-the-art center, embodying the glorious past, vibrant present, and promising future of our homeland, will provide an ideal environment for conducting research, fostering discussions, advancing groundbreaking ideas, and creating new scientific content.
I trust that during this International Congress, you will gain deeper insights into the ongoing work to study, preserve, and promote the cultural monuments, historical and architectural ensembles, unique manuscripts, and book collections of our country. I look forward to your new proposals and recommendations for further enhancing our cooperation.
I am confident that all the forum’s activities, the scholarly presentations, and the important initiatives of the participants will significantly contribute to the socio-spiritual advancement of New Uzbekistan.
Once again, I extend my warmest congratulations on the opening of this prestigious forum, and I wish you all robust health and great success in your scientific and creative pursuits.
Welcome to Uzbekistan— one of the cradles of world civilization, a land of peace and friendship, of science and enlightenment!
Shavkat Mirziyoyev,
