More than 1,200 schools in the Kashkadarya region received book albums from the "Architectural Epigraphy of Uzbekistan" series

On May 29, a presentation of the 20-volume unique series took place in Karshi.

These books, published by the World Society for the Study, Preservation, and Popularization of the Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan (WOSCU), were a significant gift to more than 1,220 schools in the Kashkadarya region.

The event was attended by school leaders, educators, historians, students, and representatives of the cultural community. Participants were introduced to the unique epigraphic monuments of Uzbekistan presented in the books, which include photographs of architectural objects, detailed descriptions, scientific comments, and text decipherments. Additionally, they learned about WOSCU's activities through documentary films.

Certificates for the complimentary receipt of the 20-volume series "Architectural Epigraphy of Uzbekistan" were awarded to school libraries in the Kashkadarya region. Farid Bazarov, Deputy Head of the Department of Preschool and School Education of the Kashkadarya region, emphasized the importance of this initiative, highlighting its contribution to educating an informed and socially responsible young generation.

"On behalf of the Department of Preschool and School Education of the Kashkadarya region and myself, I express my heartfelt gratitude for this generous gift of 20 volumes of 'Architectural Epigraphy of Uzbekistan.' Today, I discovered this project, which will serve as a beacon in history and open new horizons for the youth of Uzbekistan. Our main goal is to nurture a new generation of educated, well-rounded, and socially responsible citizens. We are confident that these books will make an invaluable contribution to achieving this goal," said F. Bazarov.

"The ongoing nationwide campaign to distribute certificates for the free receipt of albums on the epigraphy of Uzbekistan is a vivid testament to the implementation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's initiatives aimed at studying and popularizing the country's cultural heritage. Uzbek scientists have done meticulous work, and today these books become a valuable resource for all school libraries in the country," said the author of the project, Chairman of the Board of WOSCU, Dr. Firdavs Abdukhalikov.

Senior Researcher of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences, Faizkhuja Makhmudov, shared his experience participating in the project. For one and a half months, he, along with Bobur Aminov, traveled through villages in the Kashkadarya region, discovering ancient inscriptions on gravestones and mosques. These findings constitute 90% of the materials for the album dedicated to the Kashkadarya region.

It is noteworthy that Uzbekistan today is a leader in Central Asia in terms of the number and uniqueness of epigraphic monuments. The creative team studied these unique monuments of writing for several years, compiling the results of their research into the multi-volume edition "Architectural Epigraphy of Uzbekistan".
