World Society presented 35 volumes of Cultural Legacy of Uzbekistan in World Collections series to Institute of Manuscripts in Azerbaijan

A meeting was held in Baku between the World Society delegation headed by chairman of the organization's board Firdavs Abdukhalikov and Kerimli Teymur Hashim oglu, Director of the Institute of Manuscripts named after Muhammad Fuzuli, National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. The parties discussed cooperation and joint work on a book dedicated to Uzbek collections in Azerbaijan.

Kerimli Teymur Hashim oglu highly appreciated the efforts by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Uzbek Government, who enable the implementation of international cultural projects.
"We thank the heads of our states for our unity, solidarity, peaceful life and well-being. And today, more than ever before, the main value that unites us is the culture, which has been a unifying factor for our peoples since long ago.

The Azerbaijani side is glad to take part in a large-scale and interesting project like this and share its manuscripts stored at the institute. Uzbekistan's efforts to study and preserve its cultural legacy are truly admirable," Teymur Hashim oglu said. "We thank the World Society for the 35 volumes of the book-albums donated to our museum and look forward to an addition of a volume about Uzbek collections in our country to the unique series of books about the legacy of Uzbekistan."
The section dedicated to Uzbek manuscripts will include more than 90 manuscripts by scholars, poets and cultural figures in Arabic, Persian and Uzbek. These works will include those written by Alisher Navoi, Bobur, Abu Ali ibn Sino (Avicenna), Imam al-Bukhari, Ulugbek and Jami. One of the gems in the collection is the manuscript Al-Qanun fi at-Tibb (Volume II) by Abu Ali ibn Sina (Avicenna) written in 537 AH/1143.

The delegates have approved the list of manuscripts to be included in the album, and the museum specialists have begun to prepare material about the handwritten legacy of Uzbekistan stored at the Institute. These are truly unique manuscripts. Many of them are richly ornamented and have rare binding.

The agreement on the creation of the book-album was reached within the framework of the 6th International Congress of the World Society, which was held in Samarkand in the summer of 2022 and featured a representative delegation from Azerbaijan.
