Volume 22 (Part 2), dedicated to the collection of manuscripts in the Abu Rayhan Beruni Institute of Oriental Studies under the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, includes works related to exact and natural sciences written in Persian, Tajik, Arabic and Turkic. Among them is the world-famous work Zij-i Jadid-i Guragani (Guragan's New Astronomical Tables) by Mirzo Ulugbek, treatises on arithmetics, illustrated works on geography and medicine, which are interesting not only to specialists, but also as works generally expanding ideas about the art of miniature. The most important manuscripts also include three works by the great encyclopedic scholar Abu Ali ibn Sina (Avicenna). Among other things, the album includes works on veterinary medicine, hunting, alchemy and mineralogy, provided with descriptive miniatures. In 2000, the manuscript collection of the Institute of Oriental Studies under the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan was listed in the UNESCO Memory of the World program as one of the richest manuscript repositories in the world.
