What musical instruments "traveled" with the army of Amir Temur?

The great commander Amir Temur widely used musical instruments in his military campaigns, military music accompanied all his exercises and battles.

He also made changes to the military functions of musical instruments, streamlined and systematized their use, fixing these rules in his famous work "Code".

Amir Temur's prescriptions are based on the idea of a hierarchy of instruments for awarding military leaders with them.

In real military practice, reflected in the chronicles, the main ones were two related percussion instruments, representing the type of "large timpani". One of them is the old Persian timpani kus. The second analogue of kusa came from the Turkic-Mongolian military affairs and was designated by the Chagatai term «kurke» (kureke). In addition to the instruments used during military campaigns, in the era of Amir Temur there was a wide variety of others - wind, string and percussion, intended for secular music.
