The medallion belongs to the Ghaznavid ruler Abu Shujah Farrukhzad bin Mas'ud, whose reign dates back to 1052–1059. The date 444 AH — 1052–1053 AD on the medallion indicates its connection to a specific historical period.

On both sides of the medallion, the name and titles of the ruler are written in Kufic script:

"Adl / al-amir as-sa'id al-malik / nasir califat Allah Abu Shujah Farrukhzad / bin Nasir Din Allah."

On the reverse side, the word of testimony — "La ilaha illallah, Muhammadur Rasulullah" — and the name of the Abbasid caliph al-Qaim biamrillah are depicted. On the edge, the 33rd verse of Surah "Tawba" of the Holy Quran is cited. This medallion, measuring only 7.4 centimeters in diameter, contains extensive historical and Islamic information. Including:

- the name and titles of the ruler;
- Information about the period of the Ghaznavids;
— date of the year 444 AH;
- The name of the city of Ghazni;
— the name of the Abbasid caliph;
- the word of testimony;
— A verse of the Quran.

Today, this rare medallion from the Ghaznavid era is part of the exhibition of the Center for Islamic Civilization. Such artifacts are important not only as examples of material culture but also as an important source for studying the political history, religious life, epigraphy, and art of that period.
