Poyi Kalon in Bukhara will be restored

A joint project will be implemented to restore the Poyi Kalon architectural complex in Bukhara. This complex is an integral part of the World Heritage Site "Historical Center of Bukhara".

On this issue, an online meeting was organized between representatives of the Permanent Mission of Uzbekistan to UNESCO and the Director of the World Heritage Center, Lazar Elundu Assomo, and a representative of the CRATerre Association and expert architect on the preservation of heritage sites, Sébastien Morisot.

 

It is planned to utilize advanced international experience and modern methods during the restoration of Poyi Kalon. A long-term conservation plan will be developed to ensure the long-term preservation of the complex. Local specialists will be involved, and their qualifications in the fields of restoration, conservation, and cultural heritage management will be improved.

 

Representatives of CRATerre and the UNESCO World Heritage Center will visit Uzbekistan to study the condition of Poyi Kalon on-site, consult with local specialists, familiarize themselves with the personnel training system, and discuss project details in detail.
