In the All-Russian Museum of Applied and Decorative and Folk Art, trays with paintings depicting Eastern subjects are kept. The author of these sketches is Maria Nesterova.
Uzbekistan played a leading role in the fate of Maria Alexandrovna Nesterova-Berzina. He was born in Samarkand, spent his childhood there, and graduated from gymnasium.

He collaborated with the Moscow Central Museum of Crafts, and in 1932 was on a business trip to the silk and carpet factory in Samarkand. During his business trip, his paintings "Carpet Weaver," "Teahouse," "Fruit Picking," and others were submitted for production to the industrial centers of Fedoskino and Zhostova, which were later used for lacquer decoration of metal and papier-mâché.

At the same time, the artist's unique works, executed on trays and boxes with varnish depictions, have been discovered only in the collections of the All-Russian Museum of Applied and Decorative and Folk Art.
