According to legends, pilaf was invented by Ibn Sina to treat the wounded heart of a prince who could not marry the daughter of a craftsman. The theme of the first Bukhara Biennale, which currently attracts the attention of the world, was called "Recipes for Wounded Hearts," referring to the history of pilaf.

The Biennale unites three important areas for Uzbekistan - art, crafts, and gastronomy. We would like to draw your attention to the special exhibition "Foodscapes. Taste cards, soul echoes", organized at the Bukhara Museum of Fine Arts.

The exhibition is built around a common table, distribution, and hospitality. Here, paintings depicting tea parties, feasts, and celebrations characteristic of our people, the preparation of pilaf in the fields, and market scenes are presented. When Uzbeks set the table, they put the first bread on it. The exhibition also opens with Anna Andreyenko's work "The Bread of Peace".

To treat guests with tea is also our habit. In Zokir Inoğomov's work, the portrayal of a bride in a national dress serving tea to her mother-in-law fully reveals this tradition. In the works of such famous artists as Nadezhda Kashina, Zinaida Kovalevskaya, Fevzi Rajepov, one can feel the fertile soil of our land, the abundance and generosity of nature.

In the "Scenes" section of the exhibition, special attention is paid to Bukhara and its rich history. Video installations are also included in the museum's exposition, which enhance the visual appeal of the exhibition's works against the background of classical music.

Here, food is considered as a strong sign of cultural identity - a true taste map, a deep echo of the heart.
