The National Library of Uzbekistan has been hosting the international conference "Central Asia" since 1999 and the annual National Information and Library Week "INFOLIB" since 2012. The mission of "INFOLIB" is to foster the users' desire and interest in independent information acquisition, familiarize them in detail with newly published socio-political, scientific-educational, educational and fiction literature.
With the aim of improving the quality of scientific research and publication activity in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the National Library initiated the holding of the National Scientific and Educational Forum "Access to Scientific Information and Publication Activity." For the first time in library practice, collective access to the EBSCO scientific and educational databases was organized for 120 educational, scientific and information and library institutions of the republic.
